Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Welcome to The Little Lights ("The Little Lights", "TLL", "we", "us" or "our"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Little Lights web application, website and related services (together, the "Service").

The Service is operated by:

  • The Little Lights Co
  • Registered in: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  • Registered address: Sharjah Publishing City, Sharjah, UAE
  • Contact email: holly@thelittlelights.co

By creating an account, accessing or using The Little Lights, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About The Little Lights

The Little Lights is a digital support and organisational platform created primarily for parents, guardians and carers of neurodivergent children.

Depending on the features available to you, the Service may allow you to:

  • create parent and child profiles
  • record observations, behaviours, routines, triggers, strategies and daily experiences
  • keep a private journal
  • record therapy, occupational therapy or support-related information
  • upload assessment, diagnosis, therapy, educational or other reports
  • use automated tools to summarise or organise information you choose to provide
  • record wins, milestones and positive moments
  • use wellbeing and self-care resources
  • create routines, reminders or checklists
  • access educational information, resources and guidance
  • use other tools intended to help parents organise and better understand information relating to their family

Features may be added, changed or removed as The Little Lights develops.

2. The Little Lights Is Not Medical Advice

The Little Lights is a parenting, organisational and wellbeing support tool. It is not a medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, diagnostic or emergency service.

Nothing within the Service should be treated as:

  • medical advice
  • a medical diagnosis
  • psychological or psychiatric advice
  • a treatment plan
  • clinical monitoring
  • a substitute for professional assessment
  • professional educational advice
  • emergency support

You should always seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional regarding medical, developmental, psychological, therapeutic or educational concerns.

If you believe you, your child or another person is in immediate danger or experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact your local emergency services or an appropriate healthcare provider.

3. No Diagnosis or Clinical Decision-Making

The Little Lights does not diagnose autism, ADHD, AuDHD or any other medical, developmental, neurological or psychological condition.

Any tracking, journal, pattern-recognition, summary, AI-generated output or similar functionality is intended to help you organise and understand information. It should not be relied upon to make decisions about:

  • diagnosis
  • medication
  • treatment
  • therapy
  • schooling
  • professional care
  • emergency intervention

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create or operate a The Little Lights account. The Service is designed for adults including parents, guardians and carers. Children should not create their own The Little Lights accounts.

If you enter personal information relating to a child, you confirm that:

  • you are the child's parent or legal guardian; or
  • you otherwise have the lawful authority to provide and manage that information.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate account information
  • keeping your login credentials confidential
  • keeping access to your device secure
  • all activity taking place through your account
  • informing us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission

6. Your Private Records

The Little Lights has been designed so that personal records created within your account remain private from The Little Lights administrative users.

Private records may include:

  • journal entries
  • child profiles
  • behavioural observations
  • developmental information
  • sensory information
  • notes
  • daily tracking information
  • therapy-related information
  • diagnosis information
  • wellbeing information
  • reports or documents you upload

The contents of these private records are not accessible to The Little Lights administrators, staff or internal administrative users through the administrative platform. The Little Lights team does not manually open, read, review or monitor users' private reports, journals or records.

This is separate from automated processing required to provide features that you choose to use.

7. AI and Automated Processing of Reports

Certain The Little Lights features may use artificial intelligence or other automated systems. For example, if you choose to upload a diagnosis, assessment or therapy report and request a summary, the contents of that report may need to be processed automatically in order to generate the summary.

By choosing to use such a feature, you understand that the relevant information may be processed automatically in order to provide the feature you requested. The Little Lights administrators and staff do not manually read your report as part of this process.

AI-generated summaries are provided for organisational and informational purposes only. They are not medical diagnoses, professional clinical interpretations or professional advice.

8. Ownership of Your Information

You retain ownership of the personal information and content you provide to The Little Lights. By providing information, you give us only the limited rights necessary to store and process that information in order to provide the Service to you.

We do not obtain ownership of your journal entries, child information, private records or uploaded reports simply because they are stored within The Little Lights.

9. Sensitive Information

Some information entered into The Little Lights may be highly sensitive, including:

  • health information
  • disability information
  • developmental information
  • psychological information
  • diagnosis information
  • behavioural information
  • assessment reports

This information may require additional protections under applicable privacy laws. Where required, we will ask for appropriate consent before processing such information.

10. 30-Day Free Trial

New eligible users receive 30 days of full access to The Little Lights free of charge, subject to eligibility.

To begin the free trial, you are required to:

  • choose either a monthly or annual subscription; and
  • provide a valid payment method.

Your payment method will not be charged when the 30-day free trial begins. Unless you cancel before the end of the trial period, your selected paid subscription will begin automatically when the trial ends.

By starting a free trial and providing your payment information, you authorise us and our payment provider to charge the applicable subscription fee when your free trial ends unless you cancel beforehand.

A free trial is generally available once per eligible user or account.

11. Subscription Options

Following the free trial, the current subscription options are:

  • Monthly Membership — AED 29 per month
  • Annual Membership — AED 290 per year

The annual plan represents approximately 2 months free compared with paying the monthly price for 12 months. The price displayed at checkout is the price applicable to your transaction.

12. Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.

If you select Monthly Membership, you will be charged AED 29 per month after your trial ends. If you select Annual Membership, you will be charged AED 290 per year after your trial ends.

Your saved payment method will automatically be charged at the beginning of each new billing period unless you cancel before your next renewal.

13. Trial-Ending Reminder

We intend to send a reminder before your free trial converts into a paid subscription.

This reminder may include:

  • your trial-end date
  • your selected plan
  • the amount you will be charged
  • information explaining how to manage or cancel your subscription

You remain responsible for cancelling before the trial ends if you do not wish to become a paid subscriber.

14. Cancelling During Your Free Trial

You may cancel your subscription at any time during your 30-day free trial.

If you cancel before the trial ends:

  • you will not be charged the first subscription payment; and
  • you may continue using The Little Lights until the end of the original trial period.

After that date, subscription features may become locked unless you reactivate a paid membership.

15. Cancelling a Paid Subscription

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time using the subscription-management functionality provided within The Little Lights or through our payment provider where applicable.

If you pay monthly, you may cancel at any point during your billing cycle. The final month of your membership will still be charged: the payment covering the billing period in effect when you cancel will not be refunded, and you will retain access until the end of that billing period. No further charges will be taken after that.

Cancellation will normally take effect at the end of your current paid billing period. You will normally retain access until the end of the period for which you have already paid.

16. Failed Payments

If a subscription payment fails, our payment provider may retry the payment. We may restrict access to paid functionality if payment remains unsuccessful. A failed payment will not automatically delete your private records.

17. What Happens If Membership Ends

If your free trial or paid membership ends, subscription-only features may become locked or unavailable. Your account and private records will not automatically be deleted simply because your membership ends.

You may still be able to access essential account functions such as:

  • account settings
  • privacy controls
  • subscription management
  • account deletion
  • logout
  • data export where available

Full use of The Little Lights features requires an active trial or paid membership.

18. Refunds

Annual Membership payments are non-refundable. Once an annual membership has been paid, no refund will be given for any unused part of the year, including if you cancel part-way through the annual period, except where required by applicable consumer law or where we expressly agree otherwise.

If you pay monthly, you may cancel at any point during your billing cycle, but your final month will be charged: the payment for the billing period in effect when you cancel is non-refundable, and your access continues until the end of that billing period.

More generally, subscription payments are non-refundable once a paid billing period has begun except:

  • where required by applicable consumer law
  • where required by the applicable payment provider
  • where we expressly agree otherwise

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

19. Payment Processing

Subscription payments are processed using a third-party payment provider such as Stripe. We do not store complete payment-card details ourselves. Payment providers may apply their own terms, privacy notices and security procedures.

20. How We Use Private Information

Private child, health, diagnosis, journal and report information is used only as necessary to provide the features you choose to use.

We do not:

  • payments
  • email delivery

  • error monitoring
  • technical infrastructure

These providers may process personal information on behalf of The Little Lights where technically necessary to provide their services. They are not permitted to use private TLL user information for unrelated independent purposes where they are acting as our service providers.

24. Availability of the Service

We aim to keep The Little Lights available and functioning reliably but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

We may carry out:

  • maintenance
  • bug fixes
  • security updates
  • infrastructure changes
  • feature updates
  • temporary service interruptions

25. Information Accuracy

Although we aim to provide useful and accurate information, content relating to neurodivergence, parenting, health and wellbeing may change over time and may not apply to every individual or family.

26. AI Accuracy

AI-generated or automated content may occasionally be incomplete, inaccurate or misinterpret information. Users should review AI-generated summaries against the original information and consult appropriately qualified professionals where necessary.

Do not rely solely on AI-generated outputs for important medical, developmental, educational or therapeutic decisions.

27. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Little Lights will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful.

  • an account creates a security risk
  • we are legally required to do so

30. Closing Your Account

You may request deletion of your account through the functionality provided within the Service or by contacting: holly@thelittlelights.co

Some limited information may need to be retained where required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security or regulatory purposes.

31. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will show the latest update date. Where appropriate, we may request renewed acceptance of materially updated Terms.

32. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, subject to any mandatory consumer rights applicable in the country where you live.
